Peritoneal metastases are difficult to treat because standard IV chemotherapy often cannot reach tumors inside the abdomen effectively. This review explores NIPS, an approach that combines intravenous chemotherapy with repeated chemotherapy delivered directly into the abdominal cavity. Early research—especially in gastric cancer—suggests this strategy may improve disease control, increase eligibility for surgery, and help some patients live longer.
