Signs and symptoms of endometrial cancers can be similar to other gynecologic conditions and are often non-specific.

1️⃣ Post-menopausal bleeding

2️⃣ Abnormal uterine bleeding/spotting (i.e.. heavy, irregular, bleeding between periods)

3️⃣ Pelvic pain

4️⃣ Pelvic mass

5️⃣ Unintentional weight loss

The outlook for endometrial cancer is generally very positive, especially when the cancer is caught early and falls into the low-risk category. Most people with low-risk endometrial cancer have a survival rate of over 90 percent and face a very low chance of the cancer coming back. Those with slightly higher—but still low—risk also do very well, with recurrence rates around 5 to 6 percent even without additional treatment beyond surgery.

For individuals with cancers considered high-intermediate risk, the chance of recurrence is higher—about 30 percent without further therapy—but this risk can drop significantly with the addition of radiation therapy, lowering recurrence to around 5 percent. Encouragingly, overall survival for this group remains above 80 percent whether or not radiation is used.

People diagnosed with high-risk endometrial cancer may face more challenges, as outcomes can vary depending on factors like the type of cancer cells, the stage at diagnosis, and how aggressive the cancer is. Even so, advancements in treatment continue to improve care and offer hope for better outcomes in more complex cases.
