October 24, 2025

On October 20, 2025 some passionate and dedicated members of our community hosted the 2nd Annual Cure for Cancer Classic in Ellicott City, MD! Presented by Guilford Hall Brewery and Wilhelm Builders, this year’s tournament was held in loving memory of Chuck Phillips, an incredible husband, father, local community advocate and Executive Vice President of KCI Technologies based in Sparks, MD, who passed away in 2024 from Appendiceal Cancer.

The event was another beautiful demonstration of how important and valuable it is to come together to support a shared cause. Not only were event participants extraordinary examples of the power of community and support systems in the face of advanced abdominal cancers, but their participation fuels the Alliance's work to raise awareness, connect this community, and guide patient and caregiver navigation every day.

On behalf of the entire Abdominal Cancers Alliance team, thank you to all the golfers, volunteers, producers, and of course the family of Chuck Phillips! Your generosity makes real change possible.

Many, MANY, thanks to the event sponsors and supporters for making this event so successful!

The Abdominal Cancers Alliance is on a mission to raise awareness, connect this community, and guide patient and caregiver navigation across the cancer journey.

Our work is all about helping patients and caregivers facing a host of rare and advanced abdominal cancers, including: appendix cancer, colorectal cancer, endometrial cancer, gallbladder and bile duct cancers, gastric cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, ovarian cancers, pancreatic cancer, peritoneal mesothelioma, prostate cancer, small bowel cancer, and uterine sarcoma; and even advanced breast cancer. Every day, we work to shine a light on these rare and advanced abdominal cancers and lifesaving treatments like cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and HIPEC, supporting families in their fight!
