Living Proof

an evening of thriving,

storytelling, and performance

Join us for an inspiring evening of abdominal cancer survivor storytelling and performance that showcases a shared truth: we who face these cancers can not only live longer, we can thrive.

Through survivor-led performances, personal stories, and demonstrations of how they are thriving(!), this event will highlight the strength, resilience, and vibrant lives of those who have faced these rare and advanced cancers. This will be a special, uplifting night out to bring attention to telling that story - raising awareness by amplifying that truth and disrupting misconceptions to save lives.

We've heard it so many times.

Too many patients are told “no one survives that” when diagnosed with peritoneal cancers. They face similar negativity in the face of rigorous treatment that “doesn’t make a difference” for these advanced, complex cancers. These misconceptions delay proper treatment and cost lives.

We MUST change the narrative!

This event will leverage extraordinary stories and performances to demonstrate to the world that diagnosis is not an end, it is just another beginning.

Faces of the Cause

“When I was first diagnosed, I was overwhelmed by fear and the unknown, and I quickly realized that not

every doctor or hospital was equipped to treat a rare abdominal cancer like mine. Getting the right diagnosis and finding an experienced specialist changed everything.

Abdominal Cancer survivor and caregiver

By advocating for myself and seeking out expert care, I was able to pursue treatment that provided realistic hope for a cure and ultimately gave me a second chance at life. Today, I’m living fully, staying active, traveling, working, and embracing everyday moments with gratitude, hope, and a deep appreciation for the life I’m thriving in now.”

“I remember well the pain of being told [wrongly!] there was nothing more that could be done for my cancer. I had just been diagnosed with stage-IV colon cancer, my daughter was only a newborn, and it felt like my future had been decided for me in one devastating conversation. But by questioning that conclusion, searching for more answers, and getting connected with an experienced abdominal cancer specialist, I found hope in treatment options that could help me.

Getting the right diagnosis and the right treatment option changed everything and opened the door to lifesaving care and a future I had been told I wouldn’t have.”
